For over fifty years, our firm has provided services to Private Volunteer
Organizations (PVO). We are currently the appointed freight forwarder for a large number of
major PVOs who ship great quantities of Humanitarian Aid Cargoes regularly. By contrast, we have
dedicated a large portion of our business to PVOs who only ship one or two containers a year.
Mr. Jack Fong has owned and operated
Missionary Expediters, Inc. for 24 years. He has become a legend in
the business, well known for his honesty, knowledge of the industry
and his more-than-fair rates. Jack has helped many of the large
humanitarian aid organizations grow and sophisticate their
international operations, and as well has shipped thousands and
thousands of individual sea containers of personal property for
missionary families. He is a light of clarity in the often obscure
world of international logistics.
Missionary Expediters, Inc. was founded in the mid 1950s after it’s owner, Oscar Braslaw, became
a Christian at the First Baptist Church of New Orleans. Missionary Expediters, Inc. was born as a small division
of Braslaw’s American Import and Export. Since then it has grown to be the premier freight forwarder in its market.
This has been accomplished by the Grace of God and by good business practices.
As a testament to this, we recently received an interesting phone inquiry to move a container of personal effects
to Fiji. The cargo owner said he’d last called for this service 31 years ago! And he used the same phone number as
before!! Now that is a company you can count on!
Ask one of our employees, Henry Stuart, who has been here since the doors opened! He started out as a very young
man building wooden crates for personal effects cargo 50 years ago! Since then we have moved to a more sophisticated
facility, weathered several big hurricanes, and watched as sea containers and enormous container ships have taken
over the shipping industry, and Henry’s been here to see it all.
We want to do more than book cargo. We want to take care of our customers. We want to get them the best rates in the
industry. We want to guide them through the maze of export and foreign import documents. We want to make the shipment
as easy as possible and to flow as smoothly as possible. Very large commercial freight forwarders are just not set up
for this kind of service.
